The human society is a very complex system with a complex structure (not only, human beings are part of the society, also systems, cultural elements, tradition and so on) and a complex network of relationships between its components. To understand this complexity the authors propose some models for CSR and smart cities. The paper is focused on the demonstration of the positive effects of CSR on smart cities and the relationship between the components of a smart city and the CSR approach of companies. The authors define a model of a smart city based on the support of companies which are working inside of the city and the role of CSR as a tool to increase the quality of life for citizens as well as to increase the efficiency of companies (as an entrepreneurial results of these citizens). The approach of this model is a multidisciplinary one based on theory from economics, computer science and systems. The authors present the impact of CSR on smart city and they define a set of KPI to measure this impact as well as the role of CSR for urban development.
