Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. We offer a series of educational programs, including nutritional guidance on building a healthy plate; nutrition education for students athletes to optimize performance; monthly events to teach students about the ingredients, science, history, and culture behind food; and information on local suppliers, sustainable actions, and students’ role in the food system.
We believe that a safe kitchen is the hallmark of a true food service professional. We take food safety seriously so our clients have one less thing to worry about. We follow HACCP safety guidelines, use reputable vendors, conduct ongoing training, and provide tools to prevent food allergy reactions.
Local sourcing is good for the environment; it’s good for the community; and it just plain tastes better. We partner with over 900 local farms and suppliers, each of which complies with our rigorous safety standards, business and food handling practices, and insurance requirements.
SAGE works on a management-fee basis, which means that SAGE earns a fixed amount of money per year, like a salary, for administering the food service agreement. The management fee is pre-established, mutually understood, and fixed. There are no hidden markups or ambiguous charges. It isn’t SAGE’s profit, but rather, a contribution to shared corporate overhead.
