"The wicked say: Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings, reproaches us for our transgressions of the law..." Tomorrow, it seems, is a day of truth-telling and of setting the record straight, but no - it shall not be. The words are spoken through our readings and our Gospel that first we must at all times first seek to be last - the servant. Those who boast and seek to be the king of the hill will one day fall upon their own inflated egos and eventually be stripped of everything they ever knew - and they will never know. But a servant will always serve with a humble heart, ever knowing they are the tiniest grain of sand on a world of beaches. In a word: perspective.
The 25th Sunday of Ordinary Time brings us back to the human condition and teaches us that we must place our trust in the Lord.
Join us at Sacred Wandering Pastoral Center as we celebrate an intimate Eucharist - just you and me (our lector is on vacation).
