  1. The Magic Lantern firmware for the Canon 5D Mark II adds the ability to display depth of field information, including hyperfocal distance, for lenses that report distance information. Most genuine Canon lenses do so, and all L series lenses report fairly accurate distance measurements.

The firmware also adds a "focus stacking" exposure mode that takes a configurable number of exposures with pre-programmed focus distance steps between them.

    Glidetrack report:

The glidetrack is absolutely amazing. Ready to shoot in 35 seconds. Changing set-ups is very easy. Thanks for this Alastair Brown. The best money I spent.

But the Velbon head I used not so much (Velbon PHD-51Q 3-way). I wasn't able to balance the camera and the matte box so there is some "little jumps" and the tilt handle collides with everything. Floor mode with this tripod head is like a pain in the ass. I'm trying to build shorter handles to fix this.

    Panning softly is impossible.

  4. I had a meeting in Norwich so popped into the city for an hour with the glidetrack to do a few tests. It's quite an interesting way of shooting as it's easier to carry around than a tripod and gives me the ability to use any walls, rails or other support to rest the camera on and still have the use of the small fluid head I have fitted to it (not shown in the still).

The music is just me messing with my guitar along with a garage band drumtrack.

  5. Another session of testing with the TwoNeil Adapter with Canon 50mm lens attached to the JVC HD7. tracking courtesy of the Glidetrack.

Shot in Dinkley Woods, Lancashire in late afternoon.

No colour correction, just a little sharpening due to the TwoNeil softening the pics a bit.

    Music from Pride and Prejudice.

WARNING: Contains gratuitous use of a smooth tracking device. Do not watch if you suffer from motion sickness...

    Hi,

take a look to my new video with the glidetrack.

    It's pre-shoot-post in just 10 hours for a contest.

You can add it to your channel if you want as you did with the "Guggenheim Voodle". I hope you like it.

    Enjoy!
