Place the anchor of your Y-strip over the deltoid tuberosity with no tension.
Place the anterior deltoid on a stretch.
Lay down the tail of the Y-strip along the anterior deltoid with 25% tension.
Lay down the end with no tension.
    Activate adhesive.
Place the posterior deltoid on a stretch.
Lay down the other tail of the Y-strip along the posterior deltoid with 25% tension.
Lay down the end with no tension.
    Activate adhesive.

    Pain Application - Decrease Pain
Instruct the patient to laterally side bend the neck away from the injured shoulder and place their arm behind their low back.
    Locate the point of pain.
Place the anchor of the Y-strip just inferior to the point of pain.
Lay down the anchor with no tension.
With one hand on the anchor, lay down each tail of the Y-strip with 50% tension along the spine of the scapula, allowing a 1-2 inch end to be placed with no tension.
    Activate adhesive.

Educate the patient about the proper use of the tape.
Encourage feed back between applications to allow for any adjustments in tape tension or points of pain.
