1. What is Australian Wool Network's DNA Program?
The DNA program first commenced in November 2014. It is an exclusive program available to wool growing clients of AWN. It is a unique, innovative and ground breaking provenance based program that showcases where the wool in garments was grown and who was responsible for growing it. It shares the unique, funny, heartfelt that often untold stories about the woolgrowers and the sheep that are such an important part of their lives. This is the story of wool and the woolgrowers; sheep and human.

  2. The Barossa in South Australia is known world-wide for its wine but for almost as long as the region has grown grapes so too has it grown another magnificent product - wool. 3. There's a certain way of doing things in the Barossa. A certain way to be a wine grower, a foodie, a woolgrower and even a certain way to be a sheep!

  4. In Australia we refer to 'having a cup of tea' or 'having a break' as 'smoko'. It's a well-known Aussie term used across the country but mostly in and around shearing sheds. The tucker (food) for smoko is usually a simple offering but in the Barossa South Australia a region well known for its gourmet food...smoko takes on a whole different meaning!

  5. If you live in the Barossa, more than likely you're connected to the land, food or wine in some way. For Jan Angas of Hutton Vale Farm not only does she enjoy cooking (and she's very good at it!) but she also enjoys growing the food she cooks with in her large vegetable garden. The vegetable garden is indeed a labour of love and one to be proud of. Jan along with her husband John, is also a wool grower. So when John's lambs found their way through an open gate into Jan's garden...well... you can imagine how that went down!
