The idea was to create a world that can be explored by a live audience at a motor show or car showroom. Screens become windows to a virtual world, the audience become the camera, free to explore what before would be a non reactive rectangle of rendered content on a screen. We are exploring this combination of vicon tracking system and projection in a number of projects that mix realities. It also works perfectly when you replace the projection for VR headsets and have multiple people exploring a virtual world together. Its was a massive team effort so thanks to everyone that worked so hard to make this happen!
Volkswagen UK, Tribal Worldwide London and Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF) have collaborated on an innovative launch campaign for the Volkswagen Passat by showcasing the car’s hidden assistance systems*.
The Tribal Worldwide, London campaign - ‘Invisible Made Visible’- brings together the most advanced car technology with cutting edge filming techniques to tangibly visualise the car’s invisible data and intelligent sensors. Developed in partnership with Marshmallow Laser Feast, the series of youtube films show a live reactive environment where projection screens become windows to a virtual world. The intention was to create holistic piece that worked on multiple platforms from installation to tablet and film which was achieved through designing one realtime system that could be explored within a tracked environment.
