Fourth graders learned these two songs to be sung as partner songs. That means two different songs happen simultaneously to create harmony. I find it so appropriate to teach a song that says "pick a little talk a little" especially at this time of year. Haha :)

Our young students have been learning the classical music from "Carnival of the Animals." I have a picture book that describes what the animals are doing and what to listen for on the instruments. They love moving to each one, and on this day they were the bird watchers for the "Cuckoo in the Woods" piece. They could point or pretend to take a picture every time they heard the "cuckoo" sound. It is a welcome break of quiet listening and moving during this hectic time of year! :)

This a little different than the usual music room video. Today they are finishing up their Albums of their favorite third grade songs. They had approximately 50 songs that we sang this year (that doesn't include ones we moved to with no lyrics or ones we listened to). I love watching them pour so much thought and careful work into these as a final project, and I love listening to them sing this 3rd grade favorite song.

Third grade enjoys this lively folk movement. There are a lot of steps to remember and it moves so fast!
