Innovation – one of the four dispositions of the Bronxville Promise – involves persistence, risk-taking and being flexible in one's approach. Throughout their educational experience, students are presented with authentic, problem-based learning experiences and provided with opportunities to identify and answer questions that are worthy of investigation.
Bronxville Elementary School first-graders, who have been reading folktales and fables in their classrooms, worked with The Play Group Theatre Programs Director Rachel Berger to act out emotions and plots from the different stories. Through their collaboration, the students further enhanced their ability to retell stories and understand the development of characters.
The Bronxville Promise is the district’s guiding vision to develop the dispositions that teachers and administrators believe to be integral to their students’ success – their ability to innovate, lead, think critically and engage the world.
