S.T.P.F.B.C. is a simple acronym for Secret Textured Project For Big Company (that we can't show because it's not a public thing we can show yet). This is an edit for portfolio purposes :) Spent many a night on this one.

WeTransfer presents: Safe Spaces with Trevor Noah.
"Safe spaces have become very controversial, but Trevor Noah can't see what all the fuss is about. At The New York Times’ Get With The Times event at Northwestern University, the comedian and host of The Daily Show explained why he's fascinated by the whole discussion."
This was a little film commissioned by the fine folks at WeTransfer as part of their WePresent initiative. It was a real delight make a film to accompany some of Trevor Noah's thoughts, particularly about words and language being weaponized.

Here's a personal anim I've been working on for way, waaaaay too long now. I've been chipping away at it during my free time for quite a while, but I think it's ready to be posted! There are still things that I'd like to polish and fix up, but with my free time and energy waning these days, I'm gonna call it done (more or less). Hope y'all dig it!
Eyoo! I've been getting some messages asking the same questions from peeps about the animation, so I'll try to answer here for everyone.
The smears you see are all just geo! They're elongated spheres with bend deformers, pretty simple. Though quick and easy to make and use, I wouldn't recommend doing this in a professional workplace... Unless they supported this kinda thing in the pipeline? And it was part of the art direction?
Same for all the impact fx. All that stuff is just geo made in maya and animated to give it a 2d look. Ghetto hack fx! I'm just a lowly animator, I don't know how to make actual fx, so I do what I can.
The rubble and hair are just animated! No sim or dynamics involved.
Rigs: Long Winter Studios
Song: Carpenter Brut - Le Perv
Sound design: Used from a sound library that includes some good ol' Dragon Ball, Guilty Gear, King of Fighters. Anything that packs an oomph.
