I decided to show you how I make my music. I invite you to watch a screencast from the software I use to compose music. The first 4 minutes is the actual song itself. After that, there is additional 10 minutes of footage showing how various parts of the song are made of different elements like drums, bass, strings, lead, etc.
It's not a real tutorial, but if you were ever interested in knowing how music is made, you will most likely find this interesting. Also, if you are just starting composing music, this may help you get some ideas of what different sections are needed to make a music.
I tried not to use too many special effects, and keep it simple, so that it is easier to understand what is going on. I used only the very basic capabilities of the Renoise software. As you can see on the video, if you have some interesting melody ideas in your head, you can make a decent song without too many special effects, or other complications. This type of music making software is called tracker, and it is relatively easy to use for people who are not good at playing real instruments (that's me!).
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or write a comment. Composing is a great hobby, and if you ever felt the itch to try to compose something yourself, I hope this video will convince you that it is not that difficult, and that you should give it a try.
