1. This edit was done for fun and for education purposes to show the power of film editing. This version is considered transformative under fair use because it changes the characters and their motivations as well as enhancing the plot, tone, and pacing in many ways. I do not own this copy-written material and I seek no monetary gain from it. This is a FAN EDIT. It is not meant to replace the original film and I assume that if you are watching this that you own and have watched a legit copy of the original film.

Again, This is a transformed version of the original property of 20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm, and Disney.

"Editing is more than "Cutting out the bad bits".
    -Walter Murch

Examples of changes are as such:
Anakin and Padme's love story arc is more natural, as she no longer acts negatively to him, and he is not creepy. The first kiss for example, is not rejected, and the following scene between them is the next morning, so you do the math. The forbidden love story line is eliminated, which makes the Jedi themselves less creepy. Much of Anakin's complaining is eliminated and he is more stoic because of this. Anakin and Obiwan behave as friends and are not volatile towards each other. All of this makes Anakin's turn in episode III more gut-wrenching. Obiwan now finds Kamino without assistance from Dexter or younglings. There are no younglings in this or episode 3. Yoda NEVER uses his lightsaber, which preserves his character from episodes V and VI. There is no longer any droid factory or arena silliness with C3P0 and R2D2. C3P0 does not recognize Anakin or Padme, and simply tags along with them when they leave Tatooine. (Why? does it matter?) Also, it is Anakin not R2D2 who saves Padme in the droid factory, eliminating the R2D2's flying ability and thus preserving the original character. Anakin and Dooku fight is tightened so that Anakin is beaten more soundly. Boba Fett is shown as Jango's son and not as a clone. Boba barely says anything. The "Chosen one" prophecy is removed. Anakin is just a regular Jedi who happens to fall in love and make bad choices. I tried to internalize his frustration and anger, not letting him vent, not letting him elude to the fact that he killed a whole tribe of sand people.... Again, Jar Jar Binks is reduced as much as possible. Some missing scenes are restored. Bad acting is trimmed and scenes reorganized to change tone and flow to better match Original Trilogy films IV,V,VI.
Many, MANY other changes that improve the film, that I won't spoil here.

This is a lower resolution version, as I can't afford to pay for a vimeo subscription

Episode I & III also available!

Thank you to all of the other great fan editors out there who 's work influenced where to cut, and what to leave alone. I feel I have taken the best of the many great ideas I found and perfected it using my own editing choices. A special thank you is due to HAL9000 ,who's edit heavily influenced where I made many of my cuts, some right down to the frame. His edits were closest in spirit to where I wanted my version to go, and many of his ideas inspired me to do this. I even kept his changes to the subtitled dialogue, and lovingly borrowed a snip of edited dialogue from him, which tightens the entire Kamino story-line instantly . If you like my cut, check out his version as well, for a different take on the story.
