We put together this fun little animation featuring some interesting characters. It's about a witchdoctor's quest to collect the ingredients needed to make muti, which is the Zulu word for traditional medicine.
Over a period of a few weeks I trained my Siamese fighting fish (Betta Splendens) José to jump out the water and get food off my finger. He also learnt to follow my hand as I moved it around the outside of his tank. The Abovemarine is a vehicle that enables José to roam on the land. This small freedom allows him to Interact with other species including humans and small animals. José is able to navigate around a room, as he swims backwards (stopping the Abovemarine) before hitting obstacles.
There is a popular myth about fish, that they have a 3 second memory. I wonder whether the stories that we tell about other species say more about ourselves that they do about the other. Animal behavioural researchers for example design experiments to measure intelligence in other species. I imagine these rather as experiments of our own intelligence. Are we intelligent enough to design an experiment that proves the intelligence of the other to ourselves?
This video was created for the ISWA Video Award 2013.
A stop-motion animation exploring the potential of waste to be more than just a pile of junk in a landfill...
Separation and segregation of waste into separate material waste streams allows us to do something meaningful with our waste: to build towns and cities and power economies. To reinforce the potential of waste, only materials found in our recycling bin were used to make the video.

This video was shot in Portsmouth (UK) in May/June 2012. We finished editing it in September 2012.
It was great fun making it! But it was edited it on a i3 2.10Ghz, Geforce GT520M and 4Gb ram, it was a big pain...
It was the first time we had tried doing something like this. We had never used Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects or Mocha, so what you're seeing is our very first try! We were obviously inspired by the video "Frame of Mind".
We hope you enjoy it! If you like it, please share it! It took an enormous amount of time to edit!
The music is from "The League" and the title is "The Soundtrack Of Our Summer", you can find it here:
Please, watch it in Full HD!!
