We are in the Golden Age of the Makers! Doesn't matter what you make...music, art, poetry, food, robots, software, apps, electronics, whatever!...and so my story begins. First I started making music, then records, then drawings, then wire sculptures and then I discovered the Arduino. For anyone who is half artist - half engineer, the Arduino is a great microcontroller to help you realize your ideas. After playing around with it for a year I finally got serious and made these Super Brite LED Sneakers that I could wear around town with pride. They are driven by two RBBB Arduinos which are tiny and wearable (they're strapped to my ankles in this video as a matter of fact). These LED Sneakers display 6 different patterns and are controlled by magnets. To get under the hood and make a pair of your own, check out my Instructable at instructables.com. Other stuff I've made can be found at iamjen.com
