1. Harriet Sandmeier, Commissioned Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) talks about standing with the Water Protectors at Standing Rock in late October. Harriet, her husband, Max, and a contingent of folks from the Presbytery of Hudson River traveled to Standing Rock as witness to the struggle over the planned pipeline's route through sacred territory and in ways that threatened the water and therefore, way of life, of the Nations that lived there.

In mid-November Rick Ufford-Chase, Former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church (USA), joined with a group from the Hudson Valley in New York to stand with the protestor at Standing Rock in North Dakota. As a result of collateral protests, Rick was arrested with Rev. Allison Harrington of Southside Presbyterian Church in Tuscon, AZ. Rick recounts some of his experiences and thoughts on the call of the Gospels to engage in the work of protecting all those who the pipeline threatens.
