  5. Nagla comes from a village in the Fayoum Oasis south west of Cairo. After she got married, life quickly became a mundane cycle of house work and sitting on the porch. Like many men in her village, her husband wasn't keen on her going out without him and wasn't at all keen on her plans to start her business. After attending the weekly Arab Women Speak Out (AWSO) lectures, and hearing stories from women in a similar situation she persuaded her husband to support her plan to open a clothing shop.
