1. C4D silent tips & spoken tuts - twitter.com/Munkstudios

This tip uses: Mograph, matrix, cloner, tracer, random effector, loft object, connect object

This is an exploration of some of the possibilities of using mograph procedurally with some of the c4d modelling tools. I find mograph really useful when it comes to modelling and when you know a few tricks it can really speed up your workflow.

note: when working with these kind of setups, its important to keep your priorities in order. So remember to keep your objects in the order you want them to be calculated to avoid any display lagging.

C4D silent tips & spoken tuts is an ongoing series of project breakdowns and short demonstrations showing techniques and tricks used for various different purposes. You will need some kind of knowledge of Cinema 4D to follow what is going on, but the idea is to show how quickly you can solve problems using the C4d toolset. Please let me know what you think or if you have any questions and especially if there is anything you would like me to cover. See more at C4D silent tips & spoken tuts

  2. C4D silent tips & spoken tuts - twitter.com/Munkstudios

This tip uses: x-particles, xp turbulence, xp freeze, xp collision, xp spawn, xp trails, mograph, random effector, proximal shader, displace deformer

I have had problems using the proximal shader to generate or interact with x-particles in the past. This is a kind of work around using other c4d tools to compensate. You can elaborate on this set up to grow flowers or grass from anything that can be applied to a proximal shader.

note: there is some kind of priority issue with the trails in this set up which disables the spawning for some reason. The seems to be solved by putting the trails at the bottom of the object manager. Also note, this was made with x-particles 2.

  3. C4D silent tips & spoken tuts - twitter.com/Munkstudios

This tip uses: camera mapping, texture tag, bake texture tag, photoshop, body paint

To see the camera mapping process, see part 1 here: vimeo.com/173455411

Here is another quick and crude example of baking a camera mapped texture of Russell Crowe's head using the bake texture tag. This method can be used to fill in the areas that camera mapping can miss using the photoshop stamp tool. Apologies for the appalling photoshop work, this video is purely intended to show the process, in reality, you would spend a lot more time on this.

At Munk Studios we do a lot of camera mapping and are always on the lookout for good camera mapping skills, so if this is something you are good at, please get in touch.

  4. C4D silent tips & spoken tuts - twitter.com/Munkstudios

This tip uses: camera mapping, texture tag, sculpting tools

Here is a very quick and crude example of camera mapping Russell Crowe's head using the camera mapping setting in the texture tag, and sculpt tools. You would need to spend much more time tweaking and adjusting the sculpt and camera position, but the video should give you an idea of the process. To see the baking process, see part 2 here: vimeo.com/173455418

  5. C4D silent tips & spoken tuts - twitter.com/Munkstudios

This tip uses: cloth, x-particles, trails, generator

Here is an example of one of the many ways x-particles can be used. It may not resemble a net as such, but it gives an idea of some of the settings in the x-particle system. (Sorry for the glitch at 2:10)
