Scripting: the lost continent. The final frontier. Unlike expressions, scripts operate from the application level and are not locked down the a single parameter. They can be used to affect multiple properties of multiple layer simultaneously, as in this lesson where we'll increment through layers and rename them according to their indexes.
Released a little early because expressions part II is turning out to be a beast of greater-than-projected scope.
This one is very handy for automating repetitive tasks. In this tutorial I propose two plausible uses for the layer index property when working with expressions- one for using Time Remap as a means of maintaining a cleaner comp structure when iterating instances of a still image and one for using indexes in combination with valueAtTime to create a quick cascade effect on any property.
It's gonna be rad. Really rad.
