We recently recieved a very generous donation of artwork that we simply had to share. This collection of artwork by wildlife artists Charles Frace' and Betty Allison brings wildlife to life in a series of prints that truly capture their love of animals. We are so honored to have recieved this donation and, if we can pry these beautiful pieces from Patti's grip, they will be showcased in a huge fundraising event to be held in 2013.
Derek Capsis is a renowned local artist from Cinncinnati, OH. An accomplished commercial artist who has designed art for the Cinncinnati Bengals and the Cinncinnati Reds, the Colorado Rockies, he now resides in Foley, AL where he teaches a variety of mediums including pastel, pen & ink, and acrylic and oil painting, from his studio. This summer he worked with a group of students who had heard about our plans for the new zoo location. Being huge fans of the zoo, they wanted to contribute to the effort so they decided to donate their paintings! Each chose an animal that meant something to them and took to the canvas. The result is an amazing collection of paintings that stunningly capture color, expression, texture, and light.
Meet the "Zoo Crew" - an amazing group of kids from Good Hope Baptist Church in Eclectic, AL. Under the leadership of Youth Pastor, Tim Lawrence, we have really bonded with these dedicated students. They go above and beyond with their outreach programs throughout the year. We look forward to seeing these hard working students who come down every year during spring break to help us out with everything from landscaping to painting, and all the stuff that no one else wants to do! And..they do so with smiles on their faces and laughter in their hearts!
Thank you from all of us for all of your hard work!
