Alaska Children's Eye & Strabismus

Molluscum contagiosum is a tenacious, viral outbreak of the ski that can involve the eyelids causing a refractory conjunctivitis. Caustic topical medicines should not be applied near the eyes, so removal from peri-ocular skin usually involves excision or de-roofing of the raised, umbilicated whitish nodules. Recurrence is common if other itchy lesions on other areas of the skin are missed.
