1. This 2-day (16 hours) course is designed for sworn officers assigned to Patrol, School Resource Officers, DARE and other armed law enforcement first responders. Topics covered include historical overview of “active shooter” incidents including school shootings, terrorist incidents (Beslan), immediate deployment / rapid intervention tactics, and rescue principles. Practical exercises will be used to teach and evaluate students.
    Prerequisites
    Attendees must be fulltime peace officers employed within the twelve-county Bay Area UASI Region, which includes the counties of Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey and San Francisco.

    Special Equipment/Other Needs
    Day 1 = Casual business attire (including jeans); Day 2 = Duty uniform w/patches (BDU uniform preferred) w/duty belt & sambrown.
    (No Firearms or Live Ammunition will be allowed in training zone).

    Registration
    All attendees must pre-register at http://www.bauasitep.org and set up a Log In account

    NOTE: BAUASI posts courses 6-8 weeks prior to the course date. Only courses within this time frame will be accessible on the BAUASI site

    Click the “Registration” Tab on the main page and complete the Registration Form. Under the field titled “Registration Code,” enter: #4tepregistration (cut & paste as it is case sensitive). Once registration process is complete, go back to the main page, click the “Log in” Tab, then click the “Available Courses” Tab. You can now register into a course as it becomes available.

    Classes are posted on the BAUASI website 4-6 weeks prior to the course date
    If you don’t see a course listed on the BAUASI website, it is usually because the course date is not within the 4-6 week window
    Once you establish a log-in on the BAUASI Site, you will be notified by email as classes are posted.
    Training Managers

    Host agencies provide a classroom training site on Day #1 and and a force on force site on Day #2 for practical exercises.
    Host agencies receive 50% of class seats
    These classes are FREE to Bay Area law enforcement as this training is paid for by BAUASI (Bay Area Urban Area Security Initiative) and funded through a Homeland Security grant. There are no out of pocket costs for these classes
