Art 297: Special Topics, Animation and Visual Narrative. Thomas Elder, Associate Professor, Graphic Design. As part of an option class for both Fine Art majors and Gaming, Interactive Media and Mobile Technology, (GIMM) majors.

The class was charged with discovering skills toward animation and narrative. Students were to learn (and) review principles of telling a story as seen here; http://goo.gl/sNzyzU and here: http://goo.gl/0fswhW

Each student would present their story and then review the plot to make it feasible and interesting. Making ordinary things animate or move can sometimes entertain us yet is rather easy while creating a story is the actual work of the creative person. Included with this stop motion project, two additional assignments included 2D animation using Adobe Flash and digital 3-dimensional scene creation in Blender 3D.
