Catrin will introduce her role as Deveron Arts' Cultural Health Visitor. She will discuss the concept of cultural health, the role of the Cultural Health Visitor, its objectives and how it sits within the Deveron Arts and its programme. The Cultural Health Visitor is modeled on the traditional [NHS] Health Visitor's working methods, taking a 'from cradle to grave approach'. Her role is to investigate methods of identifying and monitoring cultural health through facilitating activity, motivating the community and fostering links with local services that connect culture with health.

About Catrin Jeans
Catrin has worked to undertake socially engaged art projects in a variety of settings for the last five years. These temporary projects have ranged from hosting and involving groups of artists in art-crawls devised to mimic pub-crawls to staging a twenty-four hour game of football as a participatory performance. Her interest in her new role as Deveron Arts' Cultural Health Visitor is its focus on developing relationships with participants that lead up to and inform events-based art activity, and that those relationships extend beyond the life of a project, and into the discussion and development of the worthwhileness of culture within remote communities.
