1. Arup Foresight + Innovation was established in 2002 to help Arup, and our clients, better understand the future. The team tracks and monitors the trends shaping the future of the built environment and society at large. We help Arup and our clients understand trends, explore new ideas, and radically rethink the future of their business. We created ‘foresight by design’, the use of innovative design tools and techniques that bring new ideas to life and engage clients and stakeholders in meaningful conversations about change.

This animation reflects some of our thoughts on the future of mobility in urban environments. Please add your thoughts and comments below.

  2. The world of engineering and design is rapidly evolving. New technologies have the potential to disrupt existing methods of practice and challenge us to rethink how the built environment is designed, constructed and operated in the future. Our ‘disruptions in design’ series aims to start a dialogue on the potential meaning and impact of new technologies on design practice and delivery. We do not want to offer any answers, but wish to collaborative explore how our industry might be reshaped by the opportunities and challenges that new technologies can offer. To join the conversation or discuss opportunities for collaboration, please contact us at foresight@arup.com
