    * This video demonstrates National Model RR Assoc. (NMRA) RP 9.2.4. This RP requires a DCC locomotive running on normal DCC track power, upon encountering (reverse) polarity DC - to slow to a stop with normal CV4 deceleration. When DCC is restored, it should accelerate with normal CV3 acceleration.

    * The test layout uses a DCC-Bitswitch (DccBitswitch.com) "DC Brake Signal Generator" to suddenly change the track current from DCC to DC, demonstrated with several different locomotives in 3 different scales.

  3. 2 LargeScale trains run on 1 track, using only ONE reed switch, automatically controlled by an NCE DCC Mini-Panel. This operation is shown in this video on the Arizona Big Train Operators (ABTO) modules, set up at Falcon Field in Mesa AZ, March 2017.

    THE LOGIC WHEN USING 1 REED SWITCH: The logic is to have the 1st train stopped in the “parking area” about 20 feet (or more) “downstream” of the single reed switch. The 2nd train is started “upstream” of the reed switch. When the 2nd moving train passes over the reed switch (and the magnet on the engine or front car momentarily closes the reed switch), the Mini-Panel (a) starts the 1st stopped train, (b) executes a 30-second (or more) delay command until the 2nd moving train reaches the “parking area”, then (c) sends a “Stop” command to stop the moving train. The process then repeats when the 1st train which is now out on the mainline passes over the reed switch.

    ABOUT THE MINI-PANEL: The NCE “Mini-Panel” is a $49 off-the-shelf, approximately 3-1/2 inch-square component that plugs into the “control bus” (cab bus) of an NCE DCC system. It can be considered a simple “Programmable Controller for DCC Trains”.
    Although this demonstration is shown in this video in LargeScale using LGB track, this same “Mini-Panel” and its “programming” could readily be used for N, HO, S, O gauge, largescale, or any other DCC trains that adhere to the NMRA standards for DCC.
