AYUDH’s 12th annual European Youth Summit “One World. One Home” took place from 16th-24th July at the M.A. Center in Brombachtal near Frankfurt, Germany. Playing host to 300 young people from over 27 countries, the summit provided a unique platform for personal development, intercultural dialogue and creative expression. Each day was dedicated to a different aspect of home: diversity, inclusion, connection, equality, self-transformation, sustainability, peace and a shared vision.
As part of AYUDH's 7th European Youth Initiative "Reaching New Heights" at M.A. Center Germany from 24 - 31 July 2011 a multinational group of youth renovated the park area "Heilig-Kreuz am Kiliansfloss" near Michelstadt. In the park they also installed a creative monument, carrying the "Youth Development Goals". These goals - Confidence, Understanding, Health, Tolerance, Nature, Culture, Progress, Vision - were carved into wooden poles and placed in a circle in the park. German artist Gabriele von Lutzau, who was also the patroness of the youth initiative, made a dove out of wood - using her usual tools: a chain saw and flame thrower. This dove was installed in the center of the eight poles as a symbol for peace, unity and hope.
