My passions lie in storytelling and communication. They are the reasons I try to do what I do as a filmmaker and writer. My wish is to connect with people through my work and hope that they find pieces of themselves in these stories. There have been many times in my life where I felt alone, unwanted, neglected, and misplaced. Then a song comes on the radio, I walk into a movie theatre, or pick up a book and there in the pages, on the screen, and in the melody is another soul speaking directly to me, and it all goes away…

This video is the result of lost footage without a home and a song that spoke to me. A song that speaks to the lover in me, the fuck up, and the lost soul. The story tells me to keep pushing forward no matter how dark the night is. The footage comes from several projects left unwanted and homeless. It’s sloppy and most of it was definitely left on the cutting room floor for a reason, although some has seen the light of day. Out of boredom and a need to try and create something I decided to try and find a home for it. The people in these images are living their lives and sailing on through the storm, the peace, the sadness, and the joy.

I can’t take credit for the story. That belongs to the amazing artist Ryan Star who gave the world the incredible gift of this song. I hope you enjoy it and find a piece of yourself in here.
