The very first stage of the Barrel modelling process. Here we will look at locating reference and investigating which potential shapes and profiles we should be observing.
The second part of the Barrel will look at adding in further detail and refinement, from attaching additional objects to the barrel, to adding in profile changes as per reference.
In this short tutorial we will look at basic principles of UVW mapping and cylindrical texture mapping the barrel.
The second Unwrap video will focus on cleaning up the unwrap and placing it within 0 -1 Uv Space.
The final stage of completing the Barrel will focus on basic texturing using Photoshop. We will look at baking an AO and UVW map.
Please note that you are expected to further investigate the texturing element to ensure a believable and interesting asset. Help will be provided with labs and lectures.
