I wrote, directed, and edited this video for the Autism Research Group to instruct parents what to teach their children to do if they get lost. Instead of simply presenting the correct method, I first showed the craziest suggestions from everyday people on the street in Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Studies have shown that if you start by simply presenting the correct way to do it, most people tune out, and don't pay attention because they assume that they already know how to do it. But if you present the misconceptions first, more information is retained! The misconceptions can be super entertaining as well. Anyway, take a look for yourself!
