  2. The purpose of the wilderness experience was to learn to trust God. Can you believe God to do what He said? You can leave the wilderness experience by trusting God.

  3. As a child of God, sometimes we are overcome by overwhelming circumstances and situations beyond our ability to make a difference. In many of these circumstances God is preparing to show Himself strong on our behalf. Just as God showed Himself strong for Moses and the children of Israel, and as we shall see in this sermon, in the life of King Jehoshaphat, God still looks for times He can show Himself strong to us. Read 2 Chronicles 16:9, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him."

  4. Young David, a "God called", and "God anointed" leader has to trust God to fulfill prophecy and vision. God through Samuel anointed David to be the king of Israel. Yet, he had to "let go and let God". Situations and circumstances had stripped David to nothing. He was in utter despair in a lonely cave: the cave of Adullam, a place where God turned the tides of David’s life and set David on the road to be king. Can you trust God to build you and set you on the road to your vision?

  5. God tells Jeremiah, in Jeremiah 18:1, that it’s not too late and it is not all lost. No matter how deep the hole you are in, or how messed up you have become, or how horrible, or repulsive, or reprehensible the things you have done, God can still use you and He will set you among the beloved. In short, we are the clay in the master's hand. He can take what we have done or the mess we have made and reshape it, that it may be used by and for the master. So, don't give up: just place yourself on the Potter's wheel and allow Him to complete His work.
