    4. Whenever there is measurable rain is in the forecast, be sure to turn off your sprinklers off.
    5. Members of the Beverly Hills Active Adult Club are invited to the annual "Valentine's Day Dance and Dessert event" taking place at the Roxbury Park Community Center. Call (310) 285-6840 to RSVP.
    6. Anyone 55 years and older can join the Beverly Hills Active Adult Club. The cost is $5 dollars per year for residents and $7 for those living outside the city. Call (310) 285-6840 for more information.

  2. Stories for the January 13th edition:
    1. Due to a series of winter storms, construction on the Santa Monica Blvd Reconstruction Project has been delayed. Work will now begin on Monday January 16th at 8:00 pm with intermittent lane closures on South Santa Monica.     2. Several Candidate Forums have been scheduled around town to offer voters a chance to hear from the candidates before the March 7th Election.
    3. At the January 10th Formal Meeting the City Council passed an ordinance prohibiting smoking in all areas of Beverly Canon Gardens.
    4. At the January 10th Formal Meeting Barry Bernstein & Alissa Roston were appointed to the Design Review and Rec & Parks Commission.
    5. Mayor Mirisch and the Council honored two retiring Commissioners, Robert S. Anderson & Arline Pepp, for their years of hard work and dedication to the city.
    6. The City of Beverly Hills has officially applied to the U.S. Dept. of Transportation to be a test site for autonomous vehicles.
    7. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day the public library and all city offices will be closed on Monday January 16th.

    4. The Beverly Hills Public Library and the Wallis Annenberg Center hosted segments of the Memorial AIDS Quilt in honor of World AIDS Day.
