1. This is a video tutorial (more then 3 hours) realized for treddi.com, the biggest italian CG portal.
During this professional tutorial we'll see how to create a "Digital Double" starting from some simple images.
Using 123D Catch (a free photogrammetry software by Autodesk) we'll create a scanned model of a human face.
We'll then cleanup the scan inside Mudbox and we'll create a retopologized version of the model using the retopo featureas of mudbox and also having a look at some new feature of Maya and Topogun.
After that we'll reproject on top of the new clean mesh all the details and texture from the scan data.

    Software Used:
    123D Catch
    Project Memento
    Maya 2014
    Mudbox 2014
    Headus UV Layout
    Topogun 2.

  2. In this tutorial we will learn how to create an highly-detailed reproduction of an object, starting from a simple scan created with your own camera.

We will start shooting several images of a shoe and we'll load those images into 123D Catch, which will compute those images (using a cloud computing system) and creates a complete scanned model of the shoe in a few minutes.

After that, we'll remodel the entire shoe starting from the scanned model. We will be using a combination of TopoGun for the base modeling part, and 3ds Max for the creation of the complete model and all the different pieces of the shoe.

Later on we'll go into Mudbox where we'll project the scanned details on top of the new clean mesh and use those details as guide reference. we'll proceed with the final parts of the tutorial in ZBrush adding all the fine details such as wrinkles, stitches, logos and more.

  3. In this video I show a couple of techniques I've developed to create the "particle effect" showed in the Razer Naga Chroma Commercial.
All the R&D it's my own personal technique, achieved with the a combination 3DSMax and Maya, the use of a couple of free scripts. All the "particle" animation it's done using a nice and light script "Break and Form 2.0"; you can find more info here: km-3d.com/produkt/break-and-form-2-0-script/
This tool it's amazing cause it animates the shape nodes (transform, rotation, scale) of the objects (in my case the hexagon pieces) and all the information can be easily exported in every other software just using the FBX format.
For Instance in my case I needed to export everything in Maya, the main pipeline tool of the company I've worked for.
I hope you'll enjoy this tutorial.

  4. In this tutorial I'll show you some tips and tricks on how to easily convert a triangulated mesh from Marvelous Designer, to a fully quad polygonal mesh in 3DSMax; these techniques can be easily reused in any other similar software.
Hope you'll enjoy it and you'll learn something new.

Sorry but the tutorial is only in Italian :-(

  5. This is a free tutorial I've devoloped for treddi.com, the biggest italian CG Comunity. During this tutorial I show how to model the "Fortuna" chair by Edra; I'll use a sort of "procedural" modeling technique, using almost only modifiers from 3DSMax. Sorry but the audio is only in italian.

I'm not "only" a 3D Generalist TD with almost 10 years of professional experience, but I'm also a professianl trainer with over 8 years of teaching experience. I’m an ACP (Autodesk Certified Professional), an AAI (Autodesk Approved Instructor) for both 3DSMax and Maya and also an Autodesk consultant on all the Media & Entertainment suite since 2008. I collaborate actively with many Autodesk ATC (Authorized Training Centre) in Italy and I also teach in a couple of schools all around Europe.
This album contains some video tutorial I've realized during the last years.
