The first day — well, evening, of driving. Got a late start, after all of the final packing, and waiting for the moving company to come pick up our trailer full of stuff. Got as far as western Pennsylvania, near Fallingwater, and stayed at the Log Cabin Inn there.
Battery on the GoPro crapped out a little before we got to the motel, but it's a good first try, and even the night driving turned out pretty okay. Fixed the power situation the next day.
WARNING: This is long and unedited. You may find it to be boring and pointless. Watch at your own risk.
The fourth day — From Wall, SD to Devils Tower, WY.
This was our biggest sight-seeing day, so expect to see lots of parking lot footage. We went to Wall Drug (“South of the Border of the Midwest!”) for breakfast and googly-eyed walnuts (of which I sadly found none), Mount Rushmore for lunch in the cafeteria from North by Northwest, Crazy Horse Mountain, and Devils Tower, which the kids seemed to be full of after about ten minutes, but we took the Tower Trail walk around its base, and I simply could have stayed there all night long, staring at it. I've been wanting to see it since I first saw Close Encounters when I was probably eight, and it's crazy that that thing actually exists.
