The film's structure is as follows: the first half of the story plays on the left hand side of the screen forwards, and the second half of the story plays on the right hand side of the screen backwards.
Watching this film is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle: you start at the edges and build towards the center. Each new piece recontextualizes those before it and hints at the puzzle's dark core.
If you find it at times misleading or tricky, that is intentional. Its twists are not plot-based but perceptual. It will get audiences talking.
I made this film in my senior year of high school.
All footage original except for Chapman campus, lightbulb, and "Danish horror film" segments. Used with permission, with proper licensing and under Fair Use guidelines, respectively.
Chapman campus footage kindly provided by Kevin Wolf.
Prompt: Create a self-introductory video essay no more than two minutes in length. Your video should visually highlight something about yourself, your personality, your interests, etc. that is not related to film. The only rule is that you may NOT appear in the video in any way (including any photographs of yourself), so be creative. We are primarily looking for your strengths at conveying a story visually and for evidence of your creativity rather than your technical abilities.
