  2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR A 12OZ / 3Cup PRESS. NO SCALE? LOOK BELOW!

    16OZ / 4Cup and 34OZ / 8Cup measurements at bottom.

    1) Boil your water and then pre-heat the press by putting some hot water in it. I preheat my coffee cup too so my drink stays warm longer.

    2) Grind your beans, dump out the pre-heat water, and then add your coffee to the press.

    3) Slowly add water until 300g is reached and then use the plunger to gently submerge the bloom a little. We want the grounds to be in full contact with the water the whole time it's brewing.

    4) Once the time is up slowly plunge and then serve.

    APPROXIMATE COFFEE / WATER MEASUREMENTS:

17-18g of coffee (I updosed slightly to 20g in the video, it worked well with the roast I was using)
    300g water
    200F~ water

If you don't have a scale and thermometer, I'd recommend you get them if you can afford to!

With a scale you always know exactly how much of everything you're using. Different coffees will weigh different amounts (depending on roast, the bean, how old it is, etc), so not having to guess is super helpful. Plus they're just plain handy in the kitchen.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SCALE:

    1) Use 2 slightly rounded tablespoons of coffee (approximately).

    2) Boil your water, but let it sit for at least 1 minutes before using. You do NOT want to use boiling water with your coffee.

    3) Add water slowly until near top, allowing just enough room for the plunger and lid.

You may need to adjust the amount of coffee you use depending on how coarsely it is ground. 2 rounded tablespoons is just a good starting point.

    OTHER SIZES OF PRESS:

16OZ / 4 CUP: 24g of coffee, 425g of water. This is roughly 2.5 TBSP of coffee.
34OZ / 8 CUP: 53g of coffee, 900g of water. This is roughly 6 TBSP of coffee.

Measurements will vary somewhat with different presses, as they change slightly in size depending on manufacturer. If it looks like it's going to overflow.... perhaps stop :)
