  3. My initial test flight. A range of locations. What works, or not, for me so far, using Canon, Nikon and Tamron glass. Aperture and ISO can be a challenge on occasions, as is critical focus with long lens. A tripod, monopod or shoulder brace, is now part of the kit.

  5. First test of Canon 5D HD video. I read in the manual that you can take stills while shooting a movie and I tried that at the finish, but it leaves an annoying freeze complete with fake photo sound on the movie file.

    Also, given the high def, you should always use a tripod. About half of these are hand-held and they're shaky even with an IS lens
