Child Wise’s vision is of a society in which children can grow up free from child sexual abuse and exploitation. We work to build awareness, deliver education, and provide the tools to empower individuals and communities around Australia so they can actively prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Child sexual abuse is a violation that causes trauma to a child across their entire lifespan. It is a hidden crime, one that we cannot measure with accuracy. The best current estimates are that up to 8% of boys suffer penetrative abuse, and 16% are exposed to non-penetrative sexual abuse. Girls undergo child sexual abuse at far higher rates, with up to 12% suffering penetrative abuse, and up to 36% exposed to non-penetrative abuse.

Passionate supporter and ambassador for Child Wise, Steve Lucas (that's me), supported by his many fellow musicians, is putting together a benefit for Child Wise, to be held at the Thornbury Theatre on Sunday March 23rd 2014.

An all-star line-up of musos consisting of some of Melbourne's elite have committed their time and energy to the night with appearances from:

Steve Lucas (X), Tim Rogers, Davey Lane (You Am I), James Reyne (Australian Crawl), Murray Cook (The Wiggles), Rob Snarki (Blackeyed Susans), Debra Anne Byrne, Chris Wilson (Crown Of Thorns), Jerome Smith (Keith Richards & The Expensive Winos), Joey Bedlam (DollSquad), Yolanda DeRose (DollSquad & Mass Cult), Doug Falconer (Hunters and Collectors), Jack Howard (Hunters and Collectors), Paul Williamson (Hunters and Collectors), Bruce Haymes, Stephen Hadley, Brett Kingman, Tracy Kingman and Madelaine Lucas.

Many musicians that can’t be there are also contributing to the cause and event by providing special donations of their own, all of which will be included in a silent auction that will be announced on the night.

Some items include:

QANTAS, courtesy of Damien Hutchinson, are flying a Maton guitar around Australia, collecting over 70 signatures from the cream of Australian rock.

Signed artwork from Steve Kilbey (The Church) , Reg Mombassa (Mental As Anything, Pauline Bailey and more.

Plus many signed CDs, posters, T-shirts, etc.

3RRR is sponsoring the benefit free of all charge and the corporate sector is now coming to the party with True Alliance donating $2,500.00 to the cause PLUS a $500 gift voucher for Wrangler products.

ALL money raised from the benefit and silent auction will be going DIRECTLY to Child Wise to support their ongoing prevention and awareness-raising programs.

Production and stage management supplied gratis by Lock and Load (Big Day Out).

In our efforts to raise awareness and much-needed funds for Child Wise’s valuable work, we are asking you for any support you can offer both on and off air to the cause and this special event – preventing the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

We can prevent it. We must prevent it.

My aim is to have this music channel host all of the best concert footage and music videos captured in the music loving land down under, AUSTRALIA.

Let me tell you something about myself. Everyone calls me "CARBIE" as in carburettor. I am known as being one of the most popular Australian Music Photographers based in Melbourne Rock Central, AUSTRALIA. I have had my photographs published in Rolling Stone magazine, J-Mag (Triple J's music magazine), The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and a heap of other publications.

I am a freelancer music photographer and pretty much do my own thing. I get set see and discover so many new aussie bands in this Melbourne music loving city. I photographed over 160 concerts last year and I am well on track on doing over 200 in 2010. My main aim to document the Melbourne music scene. I am also the official photographer for numerous events from The Community Cup, SLAM (Save Live Australian Music) Rally, lots of music festivals, etc

My weapon of choice is the latest CANON 7D for all of my HD Videos. I always capture in the highest Blu-ray 1080p resolution.

If you are interested in contributing your music videos or concert footage, feel free to add them to this aussie music channel.
