1. How does the leading athletic apparel + equipment company improve upon the world's premiere football cleat? Throw some bulletproof kevlar in it, obviously. That's exactly what Nike did with their new Alpha Talon Cleat. Nike engaged us to craft two fully CG spots to highlight the insane amount of innovative technologies found in the Alpha Talon Cleats and their new Pro Combat Uniform. Our hero renders were also used at the product release event at Cowboys Stadium, on the world's largest Jumbotron, and on in-store displays at Nike retailers.

  3. Commissioned by The Future Tense for it's SPECTRA I exhibition, ‘Refractive Monolith’ is a three dimensional reaction to, or conversation with, Lee Baker’s recent paintings, which combine vivid colour and extreme perspectives to ‘build’ fantastical meta-cities against a stormy backdrop of ashen clouds and pending darkness.

Utilising approximately 10 thousand metres of acrylic yarn, Baker has occupied the space with this imposing architectural monolith, forcing its false perspective upon the viewer.

As with Baker’s paintings the joyous colours give a reassuring sense of security, while at the same time the spectrum of laser-like yarn represents the volatile infrastructure and relative weakness of buildings. The gray walls serve to both enhance the colours whilst also alluding to a looming catastrophe.

Drawing on the narrative and scenic elements of Japanese films such as Osamu Tezuka’s 'Metropolis', Katsuhiro Otomo’s 'Akira' and further exploring the idea of a self-aware 'thinking city' developed in films such as 'Tekkonkinkreet' and Makoto Shinkai’s 'A Place Promised in our Early Years', Lee Baker’s art practice explores the dichotomy between Japan’s fragile, intricate cultural aesthetic and the relentless forces of urbanisation that increasingly mark its landscape.

  4. Project: BT Vision Xmas Ident / Collage
    Client: weareseventeen / BT
Music and Sound Design: Box of Toys Audio

Stunning visuals from weareseventeen for BT Vision's Christmas identity.

Our brief was to create audio for a Christmas ident without resorting to stereotypical instruments or sounds.

The music embodies the glassy, crystalline character of the visuals with a sincere lead piano line whilst a more festive tone is subtly portrayed with the warm glow of a bass guitar and choral elements. Sound design uses recordings of tinsel, grinding christmas decorations and ice to convey the complex textures of the objects.

This is a collage of the opener and the bumpers.
