  1. This project sums up all of Octavio.tv experience and expertise so far. Manicured crown splashes, photogenic filling of containers, abstract toroidal waves and a new super custom pyro / fluid simulation cloud!
The guys from Fin Design and Andrew Van Der Westhuyzen from Collider in Sydney approached us with an exiting and ambitious brief, it was as sexy as it was scary. It required a heavy R&D phase, both in Houdini and Real Flow as most of the required shots where uncharted waters in simulation and needed some heavy customization.
It pushed our simulation team, to new horizons in CG Fluids ...and patience! , comprised of Ole Lemming, Alejandro Echeverry, Octavio De Lellis.

    Hope you like it!

  4. "The first exoplanet was discovered in 1992 by Prof. Aleksander Wolszczan.
Until today, we have confirmed existence of over 2000 planets in our galaxy.
One in five Sun-like stars have an Earth-like planet in its habitable zone so there's about 11 billion Earth-like planets in our galaxy.
Whatever you imagined, might take place on one of them."

Light combines imagery of an alien planet with dance performance interwoven in a minimalistic narrative form to convey the notion of light as a primary origin of all life in the Universe.

The imagery of the planet was created using a generative approach using distance estimation raytracing and custom software. No manual modelling has been done - everything you see is a result of creative coding and was created procedurally.

  5. Personal project.
It startet out as a small test, but it ended up as a little animation made only with x-particles.

I wanted to share my animated sci-fi short Gleep-Glorp & Lasertag: it combines 2D characters soaked in neons with fully-constructed miniature sets and stop-motion background elements made with lots of cardboard n' glue composited together into something streamlined. Thanks!
