  4. Opel ändert Ende der 1970er-Jahre die eigene Strategie an Motorsport-Wettbewerben teilzunehmen. Die erfolglosen und anfälligen Gruppe-4-Autos werden 1977 durch Gruppe-2-Fahrzeuge ersetzt. Der Aufbau erfolgt allerdings nicht in Rüsselsheim, sondern beim Motorsportspezialisten Safety Devices in England. Ralf Antweiler und Markus Schmitt, aus dem rheinland-pfälzischen Spabrücken, besitzen den letzten noch existierenden Opel Kadett C GT/E Gruppe 2 des damaligen "Opel Euro Händlerteams".

    Kadett C GT/E Gruppe 2: 1900 ccm-Block, zwei Liter Hubraum, 216 PS, 5-Gang-Sportgetriebe.

    Opel changes its strategy to compete in motorsport at the end of the 1970s. In 1977 unreliable Group 4 cars have been replaced by Group 2 vehicles. Ralf Antweiler and Markus Schmitt (Spabrücken/Germany) owns the last Opel Kadett C GT/E group 2 of the "Opel Euro Händlerteam".

    Kadett C GT/E Group 2: 1900 cc block, two-liter, 213 hp, 5-speed sports transmission.

    After a life changing motorcycle accident Steve was paralyzed from the waist down. His love of cars and more importantly Porsche's put him back in the drivers seat. Using hand controls, he is driven by a passion to once again become whole. A big part of the journey has been learning to drive again. His love of Porsche's is only eclipsed by his determination to not be limited by his handicap.
