Chronos Film Festival

  1. I spent the weekend testing out my new AF100. After initial disappointments with running into banding and excessive noise. I finally found the settings I need to avoid such problems. I can now say that I'm very happy with the camera!

Shot with a Canon 10-22mm and Lumix 14-140mm.

Music is Mozart's Requiem Mass in D Minor.

  2. I shot this footage on October 18, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. The music is from the score that I wrote in 1998 for the stage play "Machinal" by Sophie Treadwell, with myself on keyboards and Marilyn Park on violin. The object of the footage is Tony Tasset's temporary public sculpture called "Eye," on view through October 31, 2010. You may be further interested to see a short documentary about its creation from the Chicago Tribune, at

I applied timelapse during post-production inside an Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 workflow, using Red Giant Software's Looks for color grading and tilt-shifting the original footage shot on a Sony NEX-VG10. I captured the ending's ambient audio on-scene. Because this video streams in 1080p high-definition, you may need to pause for buffering, or to disable high-definition altogether by toggling the HD icon at the bottom-right of the frame.

  3. Number 6 in an ongoing series of art videos. This was made with high dynamic range (HDR) time-lapse that I shot whilst making a promotional video for The Quadrant, but treated in a very different way.
The music is "Gnossienne No. 1" by Erik Satie and performed by B. L. Underwood.

  4. The definitive version of 'Abu Dhabi - 2011' time lapse film.
It features the phenomenal original score by Vladimir Persan.

Do yourself a favour and watch this film with high quality speakers because the music Vlad composed truly deserves to be heard in all of its glory.
Hook your computer to multi-media speakers, home stereo, TV or headphones but DO NOT, for the sake of all that is holy, listen to the sound on the laptop's crappy built-in speaker or just as unforgivably; muted!!

UPDATE - 12 March 2012 - Vladimir Persan's Original Soundtrack wins the nomination for 'BEST ORCHESTRAL/INSTRUMENTAL SONG at Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2012' !!!!

UPDATE - April 2012 - Portions of 'Abu Dhabi 2011' are featured in the 3rd episode of BBC's 'Wild Arabia' documentary Series

UPDATE - Aug 2013 - 'Abu Dhabi 2011' is entered into Encyclopaedia Britannica 'Project Time-Lapse'. Very honored to have my work featured there!!

I’d like to thank Timesand Studios for their support on this project. I absolutely must thank Vladimir Persan for his help and the time and efforts he invested into creating the amazing original score. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the obliging staff of Arabian Construction Company and Arabtec - their management was very helpful and understanding - and all the safety staff that catered to my every need throughout the shoot. Lastly, I want to extend my super-special thanks to Mr. Ousama Ghannoum, Marketing and Media Director of Aldar. Without his help, this film would’ve never seen the light.
There was quite a media frenzy about this film; below are some of the newspapers, magazines and even TV networks that interviewed me: (Yahoo! Arabia) (Interview on Abu Dhabi TV)
