Canon Cinema EOS System

We hiked up Castle Peak the other day and I brought along the Canon 5D with Magic Lantern 3.5K Raw recording enabled. Although it is a little tricky to shoot with, the results are worth the hassle. The downside is the preview when shooting is black and white and very pixelated, basically making focusing during a shot impossible. Also, in 3.5K the sensor is cropped to super 35mm size. Also, the file sizes are pretty big, but greatly improved from the uncompressed 14bit raw we used to get with ML. I didn't have any issues with unwanted stopping during capture. I have the Komputer Bay 256GB 1200x card. You're left with 3.5K Raw video in a 2.72:1 aspect ratio. I used MLVFS to convert to CDNG files and then DaVinci Resolve to convert to Apple ProRes 422 HQ files with the Black Magic Film gamma. In Premiere Pro CC I applied the EOSHD Lut and the final video looks pretty great.
