Over the years of restoring historic buildings including over thirty Dutch barns and houses, we have never come across an original Dutch house with its barn intact. But now we have. This house and barn are from the lower portion of New York State on the Wallkill River, a tributary of the Hudson River. The Dutch settlers to New York built very unique homes of which there are few examples left. This house has been changed very little over the past nearly three centuries and we have drawn it to look how it did when first built about 1750. We have salvaged all parts of the house and barn including the timbers, bricks, foundation stones, floors, doors, windows, fireplace mantles and even a Civil War bayonet we found hidden in a wall. Both buildings are entirely hand-hewn in every part and very original. We want to keep this pair together and so we are offering them for sale together.
