Composing Life

“What makes a person risk everything, and with absolutely no guarantees abandon all semblance of reality and security to follow their dreams”? That is the question, an outspoken, sometimes to the point of inappropriate, amateur filmmaker sets out to explore in her documentary. She finds three artists: Marin, a 30 something with dreams of changing the world with her music; Siobhan, an actress who believes telling stories can make a difference; and Sam, a writer who just may have a “classic American novel” in him. They're roommates in a tiny apartment in Queens, they're artists, they're dreamers and they're broke.

Whether performing for an almost empty room, being dismissed at an audition for a clown or having an article rejected, they continue on, because they have to. It's not a choice, it's who they are. For our protagonist Marin, singing is the only time she feels like she is truly alive, like she is 'here for a reason', so how can she not fight on? How can any of us not fight on?
