The Road To Hope, by Francesca Roveda, documents the determination of a group of Nicaraguan potters struggling to transform their impoverished community. The film follows several indigenous families as they confront recurring hardships, ranging from the Contra War in 1982, to Hurricane Mitch in 1998, as well as many other social and economic pressures. With the help of the non-profit organization Potters for Peace they work to maintain a sustainable and successful pottery business, eventually supplying orders for distributors across the globe.
