1. Work for soprano-dancer-actress, fixed electroacoustics and live electronics by Bryan Holmes (music and text) and Doriana Mendes (choreography).

The electroacoustic part is made from samples of tabla and of Doriana's voice. The text, by moments, gets close in its style to the parrian anti-poetry, at other moments to the sonic poetry and by the ending it evokes an apocalyptic ambience, always denouncing the behaviour of mankind. The scenic part makes use of Indian dance and of irony as well, in an eclectic, expressionist, postmodern, surrealistic and dramatic Tanztheater. Some stuff just like real time processing, lighting and other details may be considered as a work-in-progress, in the sense that they are still being adjusted for a better balance.

This video shows a selection of several excerpts of the performance at the festival Cenas da Música Contemporânea 2, during september 2007 at Oi Futuro cultural centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

  3. Concert installation of a work for autosonic gongs by the American composer Jay Schwartz.

The gongs start vibrating without being touched, simply due to inaudible feedback from a microphone and loudspeaker positioned directly infront and behind the gongs. The resulting sounds are dramatic and wholly unexpected. The computer is only used to control the feedback, which always remains inaudible.

Jay Schwartz: Music for Autosonic Gongs.
Concert Installation, St. Martin's Church, Kassel, 2007.
