Zale Career Center Site Demo - Designed and Developed by Jefferson Tucker
In January 2014, the Zale Field Talent Acquisition Team, in partnership with our Stores Operations Team, decided It was time to completely rebuild the original career site that was launched in 2005 - still in use today (our new site is awaiting post-acquisition approval for launch). As we started discussions, and looked at what other companies were doing, everyone in the planning phases agreed that the overall theme and the essential elements had to convey a clear, compelling, and consistent employment branding message. Additionally, we wanted to "expose" as much of our family of brands (pulling back the curtain) so that potential candidates could get a real look at our history and our culture.
Starting from a blank page, the sketch work began- we wanted interactive and engaging "stops" throughout the entire site with videos, employee stories, photos, slideshows, social site integration, and more. The vision was to create an informative experience visitors would enjoy - maintaining our baseline goal of conveying our ongoing commitment to our mission and values- "To Share Love."
Ready to get things on the move for a Summer 2014 launch, we were at a point where it was time to partner with the professionals in our Marketing and IT Departments. We hit a major road bump as our IT department was overwhelmed with projects and our Marketing Team was busy revamping new product launches. Knowing my passion for creativity and experience with video and web design, the task was assigned to me to create a mock we could hand over to the Richards Group to polish and eventually publish.
I began the design and development phase and the site began to take shape. After calibration meetings, we had a product we were all extremely proud of and ready to present for approval. The presentation to our HR Senior Leadership and Field Partners was extremely successful.
Upon implementation of a few minor changes, the project is now in the bin- pending post-acquisition direction from our new parent company, Signet.
