Coral reefs are among the richest and most diverse ecosystems on earth, and they provide billions of people with a source of food and income. The future, however, could look brighter. We have already lost nearly 20% of our planets coral reef area and another 45% is projected to be lost within the next 40 years if we don’t take action.

But there is still hope. In response to the gloomy times we are in, the goal of the newly launched Coral Guardians project is to promote and support coral reef conservation and management projects around the world by presenting music, art and science in integrated events. The first Coral Guardians event was arranged in Stockholm on the 14th of October 2011 to support the Danjugan Learning Center in the Philippines. You can now watch the whole event here.
