Crossing Conflicts in Syria Street

Syria Street in Tripoli (Lebanon) is the vantage point, the theatre of the action – in time of fighting, in time of waiting – the place where all the memories are stored, memories of war and of life between battles.

Syria Street can protect and separate during the fighting, and become a lively commercial street off the conflict zone and every time security is restored. It is the stage of a local and regional conflict, constantly influenced by the evolution of the war that unfolds behind the Syrian border: on one side, the Sunnis of Bab al-Tabbaneh who fights against the Syrian regime, the pro-Assad Alawites of Jabal Mohsen on the other.
