“Under the direction of Louis Robitaille since 1998, the 15-member company looks runway-sleek with polished moves that would put Kate Moss to shame. Seriously, these dancers have the energy of a tsunami with stamina to spare.“ (Los Angeles Times, USA)

“[…] Fuel is epic. […] It was impossible to look away.” (The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, Canada)

Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal celebrate 40 years of existence! In greater shape than ever and under the guiding hand of artistic director Louis Robitaille, the company will be presenting its Programme 40e anniversaire, a colourful fiesta featuring three up-and-coming choreographers sharing the limelight. The first piece is Cayetano Soto’s Fuel, a piece for 9 dancers set to the alienating rhythms of contemporary life. It will be followed by the magnificent duo Closer by Benjamin Millepied, danced to the music of Phillip Glass. The evening will conclude with a flourish with Harry, a work specially commissioned for the excellent BJM dancers, a choreography by Barak Marshall, a rising star who was the first choreographer in residence at Batsheva. An evening of incredible dance!
